Lindsay and Lathan | Nashville, TN

This Elegant Downtown Nashville Engagement session was so special to me! I have known Lindsay since she was 4 years old and she has been best friends with my oldest daughter Kaylee since the day they met! Capturing her proposal and now her engagement session makes me so happy! Can’t wait for her wedding day next year! I love to have my couples help write their engagement blog so here are their responses.

How did you two meet?

We met through our astronomy lab at the University of Tennessee. Lathan dmed me asking if she needed help with her lab homework. We found out they both lived in the same dorm, and would constantly meet up to do homework together until he asked me to go on a date.

When did you know each other was “the one”?

Lindsay: As cheesy as it sounds, from the moment I met Lathan, I knew he was different and everything I was looking for. I never knew if it would evolve into anything, but once it did, I knew he was the one I wanted to be with forever.

Lathan: When I messaged Lindsay if she wanted to let me help her on the homework and then we met up and we just instantly clicked after talking for awhile. Just as Lindsay said, it really was just a love at first sight type of deal. I knew it was all going to work out no matter what got in our way. There was no other person who could ever make me feel the way Lindsay did each day we were together. It’s a rare love that we have and I am so lucky to have found it with her. Meeting her amazing and loving parents really helped seal the deal for me.

How did he propose?

Lathan proposed to me at one of my favorite places at the University of Tennessee- the Gardens. We went to the Gardens every summer before school started and we always took pictures there. This time, he asked me to marry him. My parents and his parents were hiding behind the bushes and my best friend and Mrs. Michelle were hiding and taking pictures. I was absolutely surprised and could not think of a more meaningful and beautiful place.

What are you most looking forward to for your wedding day?

Lindsay: Our fist look. I am so excited to have such a special and intimate moment right before the ceremony that only us two share. I am looking forward to the butterflies in my stomach and seeing each other moments before saying “I do.”

Lathan: I would also say our first look. I can’t wait to see my beautiful bride for the first time. Another is seeing Lindsay walking down the isle towards me. Also getting to dance with Lindsay and seeing all of our family and friends there to support us starting our lives together.

Any other fun stories or info about you two!

Lathan and I really bonded over our love for UT Football and Basketball. We both also love to (window) shop, eat, and play with our puppy together. But one of our absolute favorite things to do together is watch reality TV. We can talk about Love is Blind for hours.
