Engagement Session at Pedestrian Bridge

Katy and Kris’ Engagement Session at the Pedestrian Bridge was perfection!! These 2 were so natural in front of the camera and their energy together was so good!

How did you two meet?

We met on Bumble, Kris was Katy’s first Bumble date after she moved to Nashville following her graduation from the University of North Alabama. Kris had been in Nashville for 2 and a half years after moving down from Chicago in May of 2017.

When did you know each other was “the one”?

Kris: After my apartment was hit by the tornado in March 2020, Katy offered for me to temporarily move in with her until I was cleared to move back into my building. Eventually, I found out that I would be unable to move back into my place due to extent of damage to the building, so we decided to get our own apartment together. Days later, COVID reached the US and we quarantined together for 2 weeks. As a result of this time together, I knew I wanted to spend every day of my life with Katy. A few months later, we bought a house together.

Katy: It’s hard for me to recall one specific instance that made me realize I wanted to spend my life with Kris. Honestly, it’s like my heart knew right away that he was the one. Every day with him was easy, and I always felt so safe, and secure, and loved. From our first week meeting he was kind and thoughtful and remembered all the little things. I told my mom in an embarrassing text very early in our relationship that if he’d asked me to marry him that day I would’ve said yes. And so then, and today, and forever I will always say yes to sharing my heart with him.

Who did he propose?

We planned a ten day long road trip throughout the Southeast US and the first stop was Savannah, GA. On the third night there, Kris had made reservations at a famous restaurant called The Olde Pink House and suggested that we go out early to grab drinks at a nearby cocktail bar. On the way, we were walking past the beautiful, historic Lafayette Square and Kris said we should go check out the fountain in the middle.

Once there, we took a selfie and Kris said we should ask someone to take a photo of us. The only person nearby was a woman with her camera who was photographing the square, and Kris said “what are the odds we have a photographer right here who can get a good photo. Little to Katy’s knowledge, Kris had coordinated with this photographer weeks in advance to arrange the day/time/place of meeting. Once in position in front of the fountain for the photographer to snap a photo, Kris got down on one knee to pop the question.

What are you most looking forward to for your wedding day?

Having all of our friends and families in one place to celebrate our love. It will be the first time that a lot of them are meeting so it will be such a special day.

Any other fun stories or info about you two!

We are planning to have our honeymoon in Italy in the summer of 2025, we’re hoping to spend two weeks exploring and taking it all in.
