This Spring engagement session at The Wedding Woods was a perfect afternoon. I love to tell my engagement blog posts from the couples view point so here are the answers to their questions!

How did you two meet?

Hinge! During COVID and I was his first match on the dating app

When did you know each other was “the one”?

Ryan: on our first date we both drove to dinner separately. When Kelsey pulled in the parking lot, she noticed she had pulled in right beside me. She looked up from her phone to see it was me, and had a big goofy grin on her face. She waved at me like a big goof ball.

Kelsey: the first time I hung out with Ryan and his friends, I could see how much he really cared for the people he loves. He intently listens to everything his friends say and are always there for them no matter what. I knew that’s the type of man I need.

Who did he propose?

First thing Ryan did that Saturday morning was wake me up to warn me, “We are going to dinner tonight, you should wear something cute, it’s a surprise, and you cannot ask any questions”. The night started out getting in his car and him handing me an envelop with a “1”. Written inside was a hint on where dinner will be. “Where was our first date?” AMERIGO! Off we went. Dinner started with the same bottle of wine that Ryan ordered on February 19, 2021 (that first date!). After dinner, the next hint took us off on an adventure further in to Nashville. Each hint/surprise was tying back to our relationship. All of a sudden, the 6th envelope’s hint was “Where did we buy our first home?”. Date night must be over then!

When they made it home, I noticed someone walking behind the cars nearby. I could only pay attention to the mystery person lurking in the dark. “It must be the neighbors” I kept saying. I turn, and Ryan is on his knee. I WAS SHOCKED! The man lurking near the couple turned out to be a photographer to capture the memorable moment. He pulls out a Ring Pop plastic case (inside joke), and well…you know the rest 😉

What are you most looking forward to for your wedding day?

Having the special moments together to look back on. I know the night is going to be SO much fun and I can’t wait to talk about it for the rest of our lives!
