This Romantic Fall Engagement session was perfect! Kendall and Wesley are made for each other and their connection is undeniable. I love to let my couples “write” their engagement blog post by answering a few questions!
We met through mutual friends, and knew a lot of the same people even though we lived 3 hours apart. I dated one of his friends for a brief stint. One of our first conversations was me messaging him asking how he knew our friend Hayden. That guy had been from his childhood hometown and he was the very first person I made friends with in college at Union. From there we were best friends for almost two years. Until the Nashville ice storm we went and got dinner together and we started seeing each other in a different light.
Kendal – this one is hard for me because looking back, I felt like deep down I always knew but kept trying to dismiss it. His sister Winsley asked me if we could clone a version of me willing to move to Arkansas for Wesley because she thought I was perfect for him. That question stayed with me for the next month. I felt crazy because it popped in my head at least once a day. When Wesley came in January, when we were at dinner I just felt an overwhelming sense of peace and realized in my heart he felt like home.
Wesley – Our first “unofficial” date in January. Kendal tried to set me up with her best friend, so I’d come to Nashville for the weekend, but I really came to hang out with Kendal. It was the same week as an ice storm and I knew Kendal hadn’t been out of her house in a few days. We shared childhood stories and just laughed the whole night. I even admitted I remember what she was wearing when I first met her. Also, I told her she was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen, but she’d been dating my friend when we initially met so I kept it to myself until January. I called my sister Winsley the next day to tell her I was in love with Kendal.
Kendal wanted it super super simple and intimate. She wanted to be surprised and for no one to be there. Wesley asked her dad during a lake weekend then had the ring made that Thursday. That following Tuesday, Kendal went to the farm with him and Wesley was acting quieter than usual. He had her stop at the grocery store and when she got home he was waiting at the door for her.
Wesley asked if she was tired of being just a girlfriend and she was super confused. He got down on one knee and started with how she have been his best friend and favorite person to talk to and ended if he could have the honor of being her husband. The whole thing was perfect and intimate.
Kendal- anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with Reba. Getting married at her old house, The Estate at Cherokee Dock is a dream. I also love the lake and always have. To get married to my best friend in front of the water is a dream. Plus, to have our dogs as the ring bearer and flower dog.
Wesley-to get to celebrate with loved ones and have all the important people in our lives in one place while I marry my best friend.
Wesley – “I’m not a fun person, until it comes to you.”
Kendal- truthfully, everything just works. Two best friends who are also in love. We are going to have to agree to disagree in football season. We have 3 dogs combined. Whiskey, Rue, and Bunny.
