Nicole and Jacob’s Summer Engagement Session at The Mitchell House and a field was perfection! I love to let my couples write their own blog post telling their “story”. Nicole and Jacob’s were the sweetest couple and I am counting down the days until their wedding day!

How did you two meet?

I have been neighbors and family friends with Jacob’s aunt and uncle for 10 years. I have grown up babysitting his cousins, and she decided to set us up on a date after all these years, and the rest is history!

When did you know each other was “the one”?

I knew she was the one one of the first times we hung out. I got to go up and hang out with her and her family. We got to do regular everyday things but I got to do it with someone who made it so easy. Someone who made everyday life fun and peaceful. I knew he was the one a couple months into it. He had such a deep love for God and he was encouraging me to grow in my own faith as well. He sat me down, told me he loved me, and wanted to marry me. He didn’t push me to agree, he just calmly and honestly laid out his intentions, and I wasn’t scared at all despite the fact that I didn’t plan to get married until well after college. It was in that moment, I knew he was the one.

Who did he propose?

He was visiting me in Florence, Italy with my parents and grandparents. I was studying abroad. We went on the terrace one morning at our family Airbnb to do a Bible study. We sat and talked drank coffee and watch a hot air balloon fly over. He stood up and started to make his sweet speech, and he got on one knee!

What are you most looking forward to for your wedding day?

We are both just so excited to get to celebrate with all our family and friends. It’s so rare to have everyone you love in one place and get to make this commitment with your best friend in the midst of it all!

Any other fun stories or info about you two!

We started dating right before I went to Italy for 4 months to study abroad! He came to visit me twice and proposed the second time! We definitely understand the ‘when you know you know’ comment now!
