Another sweet Romantic summer engagement session at The Mitchell House in Lebanon, TN and then a beautiful field! Here is Taylor and Ethan’s story, written by them!
Our story began all the way back in elementary school. We grew up together in church, always surrounded by the same group of friends, and over the years we naturally looked out for one another. For the longest time, it was never romantic, just a steady friendship woven into the rhythm of our lives. Everything changed when his best friend married one of my best friends, and we found ourselves standing side by side in their wedding. That was the first moment we saw each other in a new light, and from that day forward, something beautiful began to grow between us. What started as childhood friendship has blossomed into a love story, and the rest is history!
Taylor – I knew he was the one after being his wedding date in our best friend’s wedding. We had already known each other’s hard times and good times, so transitioning to a romantic relationship felt so natural—like we had been building toward this all along. His God fearing heart, quiet nature, handsome smile, and humor are my absolute favorite qualities of his. Falling in love with one of my best friends has been the sweetest gifts and that’s when I knew he was the one.
Ethan – I knew she was the one from the moment we stood together in our best friend’s wedding. Just being around her during those two days—the rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself—I realized I never wanted to be away from her. Her smile, her personality, and her heart for God were all so beautiful. From that moment on, I knew she would change my life—and it’s true, I wouldn’t be the man I am today without her.
He proposed in December, under the glow of Christmas lights at a charming old house in the middle of our town. I thought we were simply going to take family pictures, but he had secretly hired a photographer to capture the most special moment of our lives. After I said yes, we celebrated at Frank Sinatra’s restaurant, where we shared delicious food and danced the night away.
What I look forward to most is that first moment as husband and wife, knowing God has brought us here and will guide us through every step ahead.
One of my favorite memories is from a summer night after a formal event. Still in my dress and him in his suit, we decided to just drive with no destination in mind. Eventually, it started pouring rain, and we pulled over at a little church. We got out and danced in the rain, laughing like kids. He had a baseball in his trunk, so we tossed it back and forth before stopping at a gas station for snacks. By the end of the night we were completely soaked, but it was one of the sweetest, most carefree nights we’ve ever had.
