Summer engagement at Paradise Ranch. I love to ask my couples questions so they get to tell their story and write their own engagement session blog! I met Molly and Lane at Paradise Ranch for their engagement session and it was beautiful!
We met in high school, but our families have known each other for decades! His dad and uncle and my dad played baseball together from little league all the way through high school, so we always sort of knew of each other. Lane’s senior year and my junior year, we had some mutual friends and began to hang out and eat lunch together at school. After that, we got really close, and the rest is history!
Molly: When Lane and I started dating, we bonded over our mutual love of old school country music and lots of talks about God. The Covid pandemic hit about 8 months after we started dating, then a few months later, I moved to college (3 hours away!). He always encouraged me and helped me through a rough few months when I first moved to school. While I always sort of knew he was the one, I admired his strength throughout the hard times and knew I wanted to do life with him forever.
Lane: I can’t really think about an exact time I knew she was the one. I just kind of knew from the beginning that she would be the one I wanted to marry. Molly’s family was a big thing for me. She comes from a great family, and I knew we would have similar morals and values. She is a very wise and mature person and has a plan for her life. That was important to me because she knows what she wants to do with her life.
Lane proposed on February 8th, 2025. We were at a cabin in Gatlinburg with several of our closest friends. While we were cooking breakfast and getting ready, one of our friends suggested that we go out on the porch and take pictures. At first, I went outside barefoot. All of our friends knew what was happening, of course, and encouraged me to put my shoes on. When I resisted, one of our friends yelled at me to please put my shoes on! But I still had no idea. While we were taking pictures, Lane got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so shocked, all I could say was “no way!” Lane loves to remind me that my first word was no, but I did say yes when he asked the question! I was just so surprised. After that, we had a fun day in Gatlinburg. The weather was perfect and abnormally warm for early February. I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal story.
Molly: I am most looking forward to having all of our family and friends together to celebrate and to bless our marriage! I’m also looking forward to just being able to enjoy the day and not having to stress about the planning part anymore.
Lane: I am most looking forward to seeing the dress Molly picks out and watching her walk down the aisle, and just being married. I’m just so excited to be married and start a life and a family together.
We both love country music and go to concerts as much as possible. We also love Dollywood and went at least once a semester the whole time I was in college. Lane is a roller coaster lover, and I enjoy the people watching and cinnamon bread! Lane also played golf in college, so I am planning several golf elements for our wedding.
